Licenses and certifications
The documents VendoRFP accepts, and a look at two credentials pool companies hold. What you need depends on your state, your trade and the community you’re working for.
What you can upload
- General liability COI. Certificate of insurance for general liability coverage.
- Workers compensation. Workers compensation insurance certificate.
- Business license. Current and valid business license.
- W-9 form. IRS Form W-9. The buyer pays your invoice directly, on the payment details printed on it. The W-9 is on file for the times money moves through us instead — a quick payout you draw early, or a refund.
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. Your CPO card — the certification that covers chemical handling in a public pool.
- Lifeguard certification. Lifeguard certification for the guards you place, e.g. American Red Cross or Ellis.
- Background check. Background screening for staff with unescorted access to amenities and residents.
- Pesticide applicator license. State applicator license for the chemicals you apply on the property.
- Auto liability COI. Certificate of insurance for the vehicles you drive onto the property.
- Structural pest control license. Your state structural pest control license — the company license to treat a building for termites, rodents and wood-destroying organisms.
- EPA Section 608 certification. Your EPA Section 608 technician certification, required to handle refrigerants. It does not carry an expiration date.
- Electrical contractor license. Your state electrical contractor license — the company license to perform electrical work.
- Insurance endorsement pages. The endorsement pages your broker attaches behind the certificate — the forms themselves, not the summary page.
- Professional liability (E&O) COI. Certificate of insurance for professional liability (errors & omissions) — covers a mistake in the work itself, not an injury or property damage. Optional: no trade on VendoRFP requires it today, and some communities or contracts ask for it directly. Upload it any time.
